I am never as excited to receive something I can’t use yet as I am when the Lilly Pulitzer agendas are released. I spent the majority of my Wednesday sitting at my dining room table pretending to work when I was really staring out the window willing the FedEx truck to show up. Finally, at 3:15pm, my lovely FedEx driver delivered my Lilly Pulitzer 2015-2016 jumbo agenda in Red Right Return.
This year I decided to go with the jumbo agenda size. Last year I chose the small size thinking I would carry it around with me in my purse. This didn’t end up happening so I figured this year I would go big or go home. They are also available in large, covered spine large, and medium. The jumbo really isn’t as huge as you would think judging by the name. At 8 3/4″ by 11 1/4″ it’s the perfect desktop size and probably very useful for students and teachers. I am neither one of those, but that’s not going to stop me from enjoying this beauty. To give you an idea of how this compares to my small agenda from last year, here are some handy visuals. The measurements for the small agenda are 4 1/2″ by 6 1/2″ so the jumbo is almost double the size.
One of the main reasons for choosing the jumbo agenda over the large was, of course, the print. Lilly is very sneaky and doesn’t offer all sizes in all prints. The newer, more popular prints are often only available in one size and typically it’s in the larger agenda sizes (I’m looking at you, Lobstah Roll). I was dying to have the Red Right Return pattern so my agenda was basically chosen for me. I just can’t get enough of those sailboats.
According to Lilly, “Red Right Return” is the way to get back to shore. The red buoys on your right will always lead you safely home. Apparently this is actually legit sailing information so don’t forget next time you are boating. Who knew Lilly was so educational?
Inside you are greeted with some gorgeous graphics. The right side is a pocket page. I like that this year the pocket pages aren’t just plain white pages. The insides of all of the agenda sizes will be the same, just in a smaller dimension than the jumbo that I’m showing here.
The left side of this spread is also a pocket page and on the right are the agenda stickers. While the agenda stickers are definitely adorable, I don’t find them as useful as past stickers for actually organizing within the agenda. The stickers are selections from the Lilly 5×5 gallery. They’ll cover most of the bigger holidays, but there are no stickers for birthdays etc. as there were in the past. Fortunately, Etsy has approximately 50 billion planner stickers now so we should all be ok.
Moving right along, we have the back of the sticker page and another beautiful graphic page.
This Palm Beach page is definitely my favorite graphic spread. I can tell you 100% that I will be ripping these out at the end of the year and framing these or possibly trying to paint my own copy. Another plus for the jumbo size is how useful all of the pictures can be even after you’re done using the agenda. So many opportunities for framing or using in craft projects.

Days to Celebrate
There are four of the Next Adventure travel planning pages. Even if you aren’t travelling this year or don’t want to use these pages to plan your trip, these would be great pages to use for inspiration for dream trips or even just reminders of activities to do in your own hometown. I think it’s important to remember not to feel constricted by the pre-printed text in agendas. You can always cover them up with washi tape, stickers, or pasted in pictures of your own.
There are two pages to record numbers and addresses. Sometimes I feel like it’s silly to still include these types of pages in agendas since most of us house our contact information in a phone or other electronic device. That being said, I’m always terrified that something is going to happen to my electronic contact information and I would be in big trouble because no one has phone numbers memorized anymore. I can barely remember my own. This will be a great place to record my most important contact names and numbers in case of electronic disaster.
Now we move into the actual monthly agenda. I’m going to use August to show examples of the complete monthly and weekly layout. I’ll only be showing the covers for the rest of the months.
Month at a glance.
The month at a glance sidebar includes a To-Do section and two calendar boxes for the previous and upcoming months.
Weekly spread with plenty of space to write lists, events, or journal.
Here are the rest of the monthly covers through December 2016. As with all of the pictures, you can click on each one for a larger image. .
The notes section is at the back of the agenda this year and there are nine full (front and back) pages and two single pages. I really like that there are so many!
The inside back cover.
As you can see, this agenda is pretty much amazing. The jumbo gives you so much room to write and, if you aren’t using it as a student, would be a great place to keep track of workouts, nutrition, life goals, daily to-do lists, or even short journal blurbs. I would love to hear how everyone uses their agenda. We all live such different lives and I find it so interesting to pick up tips and tricks from other Lilly lovers.
So, what do you think? Are you getting a Lilly agenda this year or going with another brand? What do you use yours for? Do you decorate your agendas?
If anyone has any questions about the agenda, please feel free to ask!
